Dr. Tommy Jordan has been working with photogrammetry, remote sensing, GIS and GPS for 30 years. He is an ASPRS Certified Photogrammetrist and Mapping Scientist-GIS/LIS and currently serves on the ASPRS Certification Review Board. He was Secretary of ISPRS Commission IV and President of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing. At UGA, he taught intro and advanced remote sensing and photogrammetry and was responsible for systems administration and project management at CGR.
His research interests include the use of satellite and aerial photographs in digital formats for mapping and map revision tasks, softcopy photogrammetry, software development related to mapping, integration of GIS and remote sensing techniques for natural resource monitoring, digital elevation model generation and analysis techniques.
In his real life, Tommy plays with the acoustic-electric duo, MrJordanMrTonks, along with William Tonks, and the well-established traditional acoustic band, String Theory.
