CGR's Node of NASA DEVELOP

Cultivating the next generation of leaders and Earth observation users.

Bridging Earth Science, Education and Society

As proud NASA DEVELOP node, since 2013, the Center for Geospatial Research has actively participated in the NASA DEVELOP program, collaborating with communities and organizations to address environmental and policy concerns. NASA DEVELOP cultivates the next generation of leaders and Earth observation users by applying NASA Earth science information to real-world challenges.

At CGR, DEVELOP participants work on interdisciplinary teams to conduct 10-week research projects that explore the practical applications of NASA's Earth observations. These projects span a variety of thematic areas, including Agriculture, Climate, Disasters, Ecological Conservation, Energy, Health & Air Quality, Urban Development, Water Resources, and Wildland Fires.

Through DEVELOP, participants gain hands-on experience and build essential skills in research and science communication. They work closely with mentors and science advisors, making significant contributions to the communities and organizations they partner with. By connecting NASA's Earth science data with societal needs, DEVELOP projects at CGR enhance decision-making and contribute to sustainable solutions that improve life on Earth.

Join the Mission

As part of NASA DEVELOP, CGR invites participants and partners to engage in this transformative experience. Through collaboration, we bridge the gap between cutting-edge Earth science and the pressing environmental challenges of our time, fostering today's solutions and tomorrow's workforce.
